"Today's the Day", is a famous quote by Mel Fisher, a dreamer and famous Treasure Hunter. This was his mantra during his 16+ year treasure hunt for the the Nuestra Senora de Atocha and the Santa Margarita, the Spanish galleons that sank during a hurricane on September 6, 1622, near Key West, Florida.
I say this because every day, I am a little bit closer to sharing the treasure I found in close proximity to the 450 Million Dollar bounty that he found. My treasure, really is OUR treasure, it's our National Heritage along with the Natural Resources provided by a healthy reef surrounding this magnificent location that is the Dry Tortugas National Park.
This post is titled Organized Chaos, for the reason that this project is exactly that and in the eye of this Hurricane (the data that has been backed up and moved from hard drve to hard drive with hopes to retain it!). I am centered at the calm of the storm, where I'm most content.
For the first time in years, I finally have everything I need to finalize this project literrally sitting right in front of me and now it the time to get it wrapped up and on a screen near YOU! The Chaos, right now , is my situation with my various hard drives, which I have had to pay for, out of pocket, along the way and they are failing. This month alone, I have lost 4 out of 11 total and one at the very end of a transfer. Probably from being toted back and forth and getting lost by the airline, when I moved from Hawaii to Florida this March, when an entire pelican case went missing in LA for 5 days (that was horrific!).
I did have a back up hard drive, (I carried with me on the plane) but not of everything, it just wouldn't fit in my carry on, I already had my hands full on the 4 flights it took to get back, with my emotional support Dog, Mahina (who I found on Anahola Beach on Kauai), exactly a year ago, yesterday!
