Wow, been a while since I've written a blog! The last 2 years, I have discovered so much about, HEALING!
Healing from trauma, a TBI, grief, and a lifetime of feeling alienated, due to being autistic. I also learned, the seizures I was medicated for, were actually from high blood pressure and hypertension; found out, I have syncope, and will black out when I get over stressed. What an incredible blessing, to find all this out so that I can treat it and once again, be able to fully focus on finishing this film/ series. Turns out, blood flow, is really important, to have a functioning brain!
I knew I would eventually have the ability, time, and space, once again, to get to work on this and bring it to completion. I had no idea, it would take this long and yet I'm glad it did. Throughout this journey, I have been able to share the highs and lows, with so many people! I am sure some, who are simply ready to see this film completed, as am I! Today, I was able to connect my phone to the computer so I can edit my website, fundraiser, and write this, to get warmed up. Literally, it was about -5, last night and I bet a lot of people across the country, are feeling this chill!
The wood stove keeps me super warm but if I don't get up in the middle of the night, it will be especially cold in the morning. I am so grateful and honored, to be able to continue to work on this project and have two podcasts to promote the fundraiser, coming out soon! I need to raise $1,200/ Month, to be fully operational, with access and transportation to Pagosa Innovation Center, it's the only Fiber connection I know of, so I'm making some frames and art to sell, this weekend.
Last week's knee surgery, was moved to later this month. Definitely for the best, since I was so upset, the weekend prior. I found out my brother, Michael, was put into a coma and is still in the hospital with that virus. Also, a good friend and mentor, Grady Bishop, passed away. I know that he is with God and really, selfishly, wanted him to stick around, to make more films! He was definitely my favorite stunt coordinator to work with! When I have more time, I'd love to share some stories about working with that guy, truly a Legend, may he rest in peace and most sincere condolences to those he left behind.
On a lighter note, I am super stoked about working with Christopher Peters, who is going to mentor me through the completion of this film and series. We met at the American Film Market, back in 2009 or 2010, when I was looking for financing, for this documentary and 3 other feature films. It is an phenomenal feeling to have someone, who basically grew up, in the entertainment industry, to help me bring this story to life!
I honestly have never been in a better position, to bring all of this work together and out to the viewers. God, is the reason I'm whole again and also my inspiration! Had to get my Spiritual, Mental, and Physical body, in alignment before I could truly focus on this part of the story.
